Podsolnik plants grow at the bottom of warm areas of the ocean, and are recognizable for their "tongue" shapes growing from a yellow kelp like base.
Description
Podsolnik plants are found growing in warm areas of oceans, with yellow kelp like bases on flat patches of sand. From the base, two to five pink salmon colored "tongues" flail with the movement of the water. Once fully grown (typically up to fifty centimeters on average), the tongues easily detach from the base. They taste exactly like raw salmon, and cook just like salmon would. The base tastes like seaweed.
Uses
The base and tongues of Podsolnik plants are used for food. The tongues are especially common to use as a salmon substitute. One of the most common dishes that uses both parts of the plant are Podsolnik Sushi Rolls, which are similar to Salmon Rolls found on Earth. However they are slightly visually different due to the wrapping being more yellow in color, opposed to the darker green seaweed color typically used for sushi.
