SP Struct is a level builder application for ME-OS. It lets players create and share levels made for certain engines.

Gameplay

The gameplay depends on the engine the user is creating/playing levels in. At the moment, Guppy's Quest is the only supported engine by SP Struct.

Guppy's Quest

SP Struct supports creating and playing Guppy's Quest levels. Blocks and entities can be placed and removed anywhere on the map. Backgrounds can also be chosen for the level, including dynamic backgrounds that change during a day and night cycle. Music can also be set, including the option to set the pitch for the day/night cycle. Camera profiles can also be selected to add shaders/visual alterations to the gameplay output, such as grain alteration, hue shifting, and more. When creating a level, the author can choose to lock the level to one specific character, or allow the player to choose what character they want to play as.

Development

SP Struct was one of the most requested additions to ME-OS in 2020, which accelerated it's development. It was intended to support multiple game engines for ME-OS, but was released with the Guppy's Quest engine to start with.

Music

The music in SP Struct includes the whole local ME-OS music library.

Trivia

  • SP Struct will most likely be the tool used for making parts of levels in Guppy's Quest when it resumes development
  • SP Struct will likely also support Unicross for level building.
